Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use daddysaidso.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
Who We Are
DADDY SAID SO LTD is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17396604, with our registered office at 6101 Hampton Tower, London E14 9ZS, United Kingdom. You can reach us about anything in this policy at support@daddysaidso.com.
What We Collect and Why
Your name, billing and delivery address, email address, telephone number, and the details of what you ordered. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment providers and are never stored on our systems.
Legal basis: performance of our contract with you, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.
Your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us in your message — including measurements or fit details if you are discussing a custom piece.
Legal basis: performance of our contract, or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Your email address, and a record of which messages you have opened or clicked.
Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
Your IP address, browser and device type, referring pages, and which pages you viewed. Some of this is necessary to run the site; the rest is analytics.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site, and your consent for non-essential cookies.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the business:
- Shopify Inc. — hosts our store and processes orders on our behalf
- Payment providers — Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and the card networks shown at checkout, which handle your payment details directly
- Delivery carriers — Royal Mail, DHL, UPS, FedEx, DPD or your national postal operator, which receive your name and delivery address
- Email marketing provider — if you have subscribed to our mailing list
- Analytics providers — Google Analytics and Meta, where you have consented to non-essential cookies
- Professional advisers and authorities — our accountants, and any regulator or law enforcement body where we are legally required to disclose
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by standard contractual clauses approved for use in the UK.
How Long We Keep It
Six years for order records is the retention period required by UK tax law. After these periods we delete the data or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.
Your Rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:
- Be informed about how we use your data — that is what this page is for
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Erase your data, where we have no continuing legal reason to keep it
- Restrict processing while a query about your data is resolved
- Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on
To exercise any of these, email support@daddysaidso.com. We will respond within one month. There is no charge, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep your basket and session working and cannot be turned off. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set where you have agreed to them, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on this site or through your browser settings. Blocking non-essential cookies will not stop you from placing an order.
Age
Our products are intended for adults. This website is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Our store runs over an encrypted connection, and payment details are handled by PCI-compliant payment providers rather than by us. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data and will notify you and the regulator where a breach requires it.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first — we would rather fix it directly. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. If you are in the EU, you may complain to the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and any material change will be notified on this page.
